Château Tour de Bonnet Red 2020

Château Tour de Bonnet | Red

AOC Bordeaux

Presentation

Château Tour de Bonnet exists in white, rosé and red versions. This wine was created to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the construction of a belvedere by André Lurton's grandfather, Léonce Récapet. The deep red colour is extremely attractive and the smooth, delicious and very soft tannin provides backbone to the long, elegant and fruity aftertaste.

The wine

Varietal

Merlot : 65%

Cabernet sauvignon : 35%

Alcohol content

13.5% vol.

Weather conditions

2020 was marked by very mild temperatures and contrasting precipitation: heavy spring rainfall was followed by an intense summer drought. The fairly mild winter led to early bud break. The summer heat gave way to cool nights in late August, ideal for ripening grapes.

Harvest

15 September - 1st October 2020

Tasting

A lovely deep ruby-red colour with a hint of purple.
The expressive, mouth-watering nose reveals notes of black fruit (black cherries) and red fruit, with a hint of spice. The whole is very pleasant.
Very supple on the attack, with a lovely sweetness. The tannic structure is still slightly perceptible on the mid-palate. Freshness and fruit are clearly present. The balance is good.

Château Bonnet

Château Bonnet

The cradle of Vignobles André Lurton, Château Bonnet is first and foremost a family home where tradition and ecological commitment come together in harmony. Nestled in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers region, the estate promotes biodiversity with beehives, a henhouse, flowering fallows and orchards, while adopting biocontrol viticultural practices for some of its plots. Its fresh, expressive dry white wines reveal delicate notes of citrus and exotic fruit, perfect for accompanying seafood and oysters from the Bay of Arcachon. Its well-balanced red wines, with supple tannins, express all the richness and deliciousness of the fruit.
