Château Tour de Bonnet, La Courrège, Red 2023

Château Tour de Bonnet
La Courrège | Red

AOC Entre-deux-Mers

Presentation

In former times, in Bordeaux, a courrège referred to those narrow vineyard plots that shaped the landscape and carried within them the very soul of the region’s winemaking tradition. Born from a 100% family-owned vineyard cultivated with passion for five generations, this exceptional wine is the result of a meticulous selection of the finest plots from Château Tour de Bonnet. It embodies today the excellence of the Entre-Deux-Mers terroir.
It reveals a subtle balance between aromatic richness and tannic finesse. Its intense nose of ripe black fruits, enhanced by notes of amaretto cherry and a delicate touch of cedarwood, captivates the senses. A well-balanced, powerful and distinguished wine — true to its terroir.

The wine

Varietal

Cabernet sauvignon : 65%

Merlot : 35%

Alcohol content

12,5% vol.

Weather conditions

2023 was marked by a uniform start to vegetation: bud-break dates returned to normal, foliage developed rapidly and the bunches emerged beautifully. Heavy rainfall in the spring tarnished the start of the season somewhat, with mildew appearing in places. There was no hot summer in 2023, but relatively cool nights and warm but not excessively hot days in July and August created ideal ripening conditions for the grapes, which produced remarkable aromatic potential.

Harvest

20 September – 9 October 2023

Tasting

Deep red colour with purple highlights, reflecting its fine concentration.
Intense and expressive, the nose is dominated by aromas of ripe to very ripe black fruits, with a lovely hint of amaretto cherry. Subtle notes of cedarwood elegantly complete the bouquet.
The palate is full and expressive, revealing fine concentration and an elegant structure. The tannins, present yet well-integrated, add depth while maintaining excellent drinkability. The balance between power and freshness leads to a long, flavourful finish, marked by delicious ripe-fruit notes lifted by a delicate touch of spice.

Château Bonnet

Château Bonnet

The cradle of Vignobles André Lurton, Château Bonnet is first and foremost a family home where tradition and ecological commitment come together in harmony. Nestled in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers region, the estate promotes biodiversity with beehives, a henhouse, flowering fallows and orchards, while adopting biocontrol viticultural practices for some of its plots. Its fresh, expressive dry white wines reveal delicate notes of citrus and exotic fruit, perfect for accompanying seafood and oysters from the Bay of Arcachon. Its well-balanced red wines, with supple tannins, express all the richness and deliciousness of the fruit.
