Weather conditions
2016 was one of the finest vintages in the past 20 years. Winter was exceptionally wet and mild, and it rained a great deal in spring until June. However, the weather changed radically in mid-June, turning warm and quite dry, with cool nights. Ideal conditions for growing excellent wine grapes!

Tasting
2016 Château Bonnet has a very pale brilliant colour.
Sauvignon Blanc aromas predominate, with complex nuances of tropical fruit and citrus that will delight people who love wines from this estate, and who appreciate its intense yet ethereal bouquet. There are also hints of yellow peach, showing that the grapes were picked very ripe.
Quite rich and full-bodied. The freshness enables the flavours to last from beginning to end of the tasting. Although still very young, this wine has a soft, pleasant, velvety aftertaste.

Food pairings
It is very balanced and charming as an aperitif, or with salads and seafood dishes.
The cradle of Vignobles André Lurton, Château Bonnet is first and foremost a family home where tradition and ecological commitment come together in harmony. Nestled in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers region, the estate promotes biodiversity with beehives, a henhouse, flowering fallows and orchards, while adopting biocontrol viticultural practices for some of its plots. Its fresh, expressive dry white wines reveal delicate notes of citrus and exotic fruit, perfect for accompanying seafood and oysters from the Bay of Arcachon. Its well-balanced red wines, with supple tannins, express all the richness and deliciousness of the fruit.
