Weather conditions
2016 was one of the finest vintages in the past 20 years. Winter was exceptionally wet and mild, and it rained a great deal in spring until June. However, the weather changed radically in mid-June, turning warm and quite dry, with cool nights. Ideal conditions for growing excellent wine grapes!

Tasting
This 2016 red Bonnet rouge 2016 has a lovely clear, vivacious, red colour.
The nose is fruity and very marked by Cabernet Sauvignon, with succulent overtones of red fruit (strawberry, redcurrant) and a hint of liquorice.
Smooth and fresh from the very first on the palate. This round, delicious wine has great Cabernet Sauvignon varietal character, with very ripe and slightly jammy red fruit (cherry) flavours. This 2016 Bonnet is truly elegant with a lovely balance between freshness and concentration.

The cradle of Vignobles André Lurton, Château Bonnet is first and foremost a family home where tradition and ecological commitment come together in harmony. Nestled in the heart of the Entre-deux-Mers region, the estate promotes biodiversity with beehives, a henhouse, flowering fallows and orchards, while adopting biocontrol viticultural practices for some of its plots. Its fresh, expressive dry white wines reveal delicate notes of citrus and exotic fruit, perfect for accompanying seafood and oysters from the Bay of Arcachon. Its well-balanced red wines, with supple tannins, express all the richness and deliciousness of the fruit.
