AOC Pessac-Léognan
Noroît is a single-varietal micro-cuvée from Château de Rochemorin. Its name is inspired by a seafaring term meaning a north-westerly wind, and echoes the estate's most north-westerly parcel. A confidential wine made from a historic Bordeaux grape variety with long Médoc roots, Petit Verdot. This terroir, rich in organic matter, provides optimal conditions for the full expression of its aromatic potential. With a fine tannic structure, fatness and freshness, it reveals notes of black fruit and cedar, which give it a lot of deliciousness. Good ageing potential. Only 1,200 bottles produced each year.

Weather conditions
2021 was marked by very capricious weather. There was a lot of rain in the spring. An episode of frost at the beginning of April caused major damage. The summer was very mild, with no extreme heat. At the end of August, fine weather set in, with high temperatures during the day and cool nights: ideal conditions for ripening the grapes. These last few weeks were crucial to the success of this vintage.

Tasting
This 100% Verdot reveals an intense red color with deep purple highlights, reflecting its concentration.
The expressive and perfectly balanced nose showcases a beautiful aromatic complexity, dominated by ripe black fruits such as blackberry, complemented by elegant hints of cocoa and a subtle woodiness from meticulous aging.
Structured on the palate, combining fullness and precision, with a lovely sweetness that adds volume to the mid-palate. The tannins are fine and perfectly integrated, with a long, smooth finish that is not at all aggressive. This 2021 vintage is a great success, reflecting the full potential of this unique grape variety.
