Château de Rochemorin White 2019

Château de Rochemorin | White

AOC Pessac-Léognan

Présentation

The whites from Château de Rochemorin are astonishing wines. They reveal a particular expression of the Sauvignon grape variety, with its notes of citrus fruit and flowers, finely wooded. Carefully controlled barrel ageing on the lees does not leave its mark on the wines, but enhances the richness of the palate and supports a remarkable range of aromas.

Conditions météorologiques

2019 was marked by a fairly mild winter, resulting in early bud break. Spring rainfall was scarce and drought conditions set in in early summer. Rainfall in August provided a welcome relief for winegrowers.

Dégustation

Crystal clear, a quite pale yellow colour with some green reflections.
Expressive on the nose, with finely oaked citrus notes. After aeration, more floral notes (broom) emerge.
Very fresh attack. Acidity and freshness are subtly balanced; good fat on the mid-palate, with floral and some more exotic notes, and light, perfectly integrated oak. Very well balanced overall.

Bright yellow colour with green hue. Elegant nose with aroma reminiscent of citrus fruit, white blossoms and hints of Buxus. On the palate well balanced with crisp acidity, juicy fruit and very good length.

92/100

Gooseberry and citrus Sauvignon Blanc aromatics on the nose and through into the opening moments of the wine. This is juicy, precise, spliced flesh, good quality, with a touch of grilled smoke on the finish. Ready to drink, will deepen slightly over the next year or so. A yield of 48hl/ha, first year with Jacques Lurton at the head of Vignobles André Lurton.

90/100

The 2019 de Rochemorin Blanc has turned out nicely. Orchard fruit, lemon confit, white flowers and jasmine fill in the layers beautifully. The 2019 is an understated white with lovely complexity and creaminess that emerges with time. This is quite pretty.
