Les Lions de La Louvière Blanc 2017

Les Lions de La Louvière White

AOC Pessac-Léognan

Présentation

André Lurton chose this name in honour of the two impressive stone lions that watch over the entrance to Château La Louvière. The grapes come from specific plots on the estate. The wine is very attractive: elegant, round and fruity.

Conditions météorologiques

The 2017 vintage was one of the earliest on record. The growing season was marked by a dry winter and spring (46% less rainfall than usual), accompanied by temperatures 2°C above average (except for the frost in April). This dry summer weather was ideal for ripening the seeds until late August

Dégustation

Lovely pale-yellow colour, enhanced by light green highlights.
The nose is well-defined, fresh and fruity, marked by floral notes (broom flowers) and hints of white fruit (peach, nectarine).
A fairly round wine underpinned by good tension from start to finish. Tangy notes mingle with hints of oak and vanilla, contributing wonderful freshness - a real pleasure to taste.

93/100

There’s a very fresh, juicy feel to this wine with intense limes and a superbly taut palate that delivers a refreshingly intense, long and fresh citrus drive at the finish. Second wine of Château La Louvière. Drink or hold.
