Château de Cruzeau White 2019

Château de Cruzeau | White

AOC Pessac-Léognan

Presentation

Whole-grape pressing, fermentation and barrel ageing with bâtonnage (stirring of the lees) are some of the rigorous winemaking methods used to make Château de Cruzeau white wines, in order to obtain the finest expression of its terroir. A rich, complex nose, with lovely notes of white fruit and citrus, freshness and roundness on the palate: characteristics that contribute to the charm and elegance of these white wines.

Tasting

Pale yellow colour, with slightly silvery green reflections.
Expressive on the nose and quite complex, with a mixture of floral notes (honeysuckle) and more fruity notes (citrus); all enhanced by very light and well-integrated oak.
Supple attack, followed by nice roundness on the palate, with floral notes, and also white fruit (peach, nectarine). Good length on the finish. A very well-balanced wine.

Light yellow with green reflections. Intense and complex bouquet. It reveals fruity notes with scents of green apples, pears and then a floral touch with lime blossom. Fruity and fruity attack in mouth. The wine has body, a little tension and a good aromatic expression. A saline touch on the finish. A refreshing and fruity wine. 2021-2027.

The citrus and soft gooseberry aromatics float right out of the glass, with the Sauvignon character high but stopping short long before it gets sharp. An excellent Cruzeau, fresh and grippy with a creamy mid palate. Good stuff, and it hangs around.
